Wix and Wix Studio

Custom code on Wix needs a Premium plan with a connected domain.

1. In your site's dashboard, open Settings → Advanced → Custom Code.
2. Click + Add Custom Code and paste the Shortbread tag:

3. Name it "Shortbread", choose All pages under Add Code to Pages, and Head under Place Code in.
4. Click Apply, then publish the site.
5. In Shortbread, click Verify my site.

Wix Studio uses the same path: Settings → Custom code in the Studio dashboard.

Turn off Wix's own banner

Wix ships a cookie banner of its own. Open Settings → Privacy & Cookies → Cookie Consent Banner and switch it off so visitors see one banner, not two.

Tools Wix loads for you

Anything you connect under Marketing Integrations (Google Analytics, Meta pixel, TikTok, and the rest) is injected by Wix, so Shortbread cannot hold it back with type="text/plain". Two ways to keep those tools consent-aware:

• Connect Google Tag Manager in Marketing Integrations instead of the individual tools, put the tools in GTM, and let Consent Mode gate them. Shortbread sends the signals.
• Remove the integration and paste the tool's own snippet into Custom Code with type="text/plain" data-shortbread="statistics" (or marketing), so Shortbread releases it after consent.

Wix Analytics is first-party and runs regardless; list its cookies under Necessary or Statistics in your declaration.

Cookie declaration

Wix's Embed HTML element renders inside an iframe, which Shortbread cannot reach. Instead add a second Custom Code entry containing <div id="ShortbreadDeclaration"></div>, choose Specific pages and pick your cookie policy page, and place it at Body - end. The table appears at the bottom of that page. Set the page's URL as the Cookie policy URL in Shortbread's Design tab.
